recycling

ROC Recycling was launched in January 2007 to provide a clearance service for our relocation clients. This very quickly evolved into a very comprehensive recycling service offering bespoke solutions and advice to our clients.

Have you ever heard of the saying "from little acorns grow big trees"? Well, ROC Recycling has grown from offering simple clearance services to being a fully accredited UKSSA confidential shredding facility. Not only that, but at the last AGM of the UKSSA, Daniel Langford our Commercial Director, was voted in and is now the current Vice Chairman.

confidential shredding
Why Shred Confidential Waste?
If you handle personal information about individuals, you have a number of legal obligations to protect that information under the Data Protection Act 1998. This could be in the form of wages information, personnel files, contact details or correspondence information stored electronically or in paper format. You are responsible for the information and must dispose of it correctly when it has come to the end of its useful life. Items should be shredded on a 'Confidential' rated shredder and by a vetted operation, ideally to UKSSA standards, such as ROC

For responsible companies it is vital that when data is finished with, it is destroyed in a safe and secure manner.

The Data Protection Registrar’s guidelines are quite specific:
“Personal data held for any purpose or purposes shall not be kept for longer than is necessary... it will be appropriate to dispose of documents by shredding...”

Any personal details that become public could lead to the offending company being prosecuted for breaching its legal liability. ROC Recycling can supply lockable confidential paper bins, available in various designs, and are located around your offices for the safe disposal of confidential information. These are collected at specified intervals and taken to our secure, UKSSA accredited depot for safe disposal. Immediately after destruction an audited Certificate of Destruction is issued for your records. This is to guarantee that each consignment has been safely and securely destroyed. The shredded paper is then delivered to the mill and recycled back into paper products
